DEMENTIA CARE

Collingswood's Montgomery Inn offers state of the art care for our residents with Alzheimer's, multi-infarct dementia and other memory impairments. Our highly trained staff uses a variety of methods to meet an individual's needs.

"Memory Stations" can be found in common areas to evoke memories from yesteryears. A workshop, a nursery, a diner and an office setting help to stimulate conversations between residents, visitors and staff. Dementia patients lose their most recent memories first. The concept behind these stations is to provide a mini-work environment that is safe and familar to each resident.

Daily baking and cooking, group exercise and monthly outings are just a few of the activities that enhance a resident's physical, spiritual, cognitive, creative and psychosocial well-being. This promotes an individual's sense of participation and accomplishment.

We also help families. Collingswood offers quarterly support and educational groups for loved-ones and friends.
